Eddie Lacy opens BCS National Championship with touchdown run

Notre Dame doesn’t give up many touchdowns on the ground, but Eddie Lacy would prefer to change that.

ESPN

After one drive, Notre Dame's elite defense is giving up 12.4 yards per play. Eddie Lacy has 31 yards on three attempts, including this 20-yard burst through the middle.

A.J. McCarron also found Kevin Norwood for a 29-yard strike to the end zone to advance the drive along, but if Bama can run the ball at anywhere near this level for the rest of the night, we've got a game-changer. We might see Bama's defense giving up more yards than it's accustomed to as well, however, as Brian Kelly's promised a more aggressive Irish offense with some new tweaks and additions.

On the year, Lacy had 1,182 yards rushing entering the game.
