Aaron Mooy and Tomi Juric goals sent Western Sydney to a victory in nearby Sefton against NSW Super League side Bankstown City Lions.

Juric opened scoring in the 41st minute with a shot from outside the box, though it was Brendon Santalab and Tahj Minniecon who were the most dangerous players in the half for the Wanderers. Tony Popovic replaced his entire starting XI at half-time and introduced the club’s newest recruitment, Matthew Spiranovic. Two minutes after the interval, Juric doubled Western Sydney’s lead when he finished a Dean Heffernan cross.
