The Yasiel Puig show has come to October! The Dodgers rookie sensation singled up the middle and scored on a Skip Schumaker sacrifice fly after going first-to-third on a single by Juan Uribe. A.J. Ellis then extended the Dodger lead with double that landed just short of a diving Evan Gattis.
NLDS Game 1, Dodgers vs. Braves score: Dodgers 2, Braves 0
Two innings into the first Game of the NLDS, the Dodgers have two run lead on thanks to RBIs from Skip Schumaker and A.J. Ellis as well as Yasiel Puig’s heads-up play on both sides of the ball.

Puig’s single was the first hit against Medlen who had announced his presence with authority by striking out the first three Dodgers to come to the plate. Puig also flashed some impressive defense by catching Evan Gattis off base on Chris Johnson’s fly out to complete a double play to end the second.
Dodgers ace and top NL Cy Young candidate Kershaw pitched to the mimimun thanks to the double play. The lefty threw a one-two-three first inning striking out two and winning a nine-pitch battle against Justin Upton by getting a come-back grounder and allowed just one hit to Gattis in the second.
