James Harden fined $5,000 for flopping

For the second time this season, the Rockets guard has been caught flopping.

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Houston Rockets shooting guard James Harden has been fined $5,000 for his flop against the Los Angeles Clippers, the NBA announced on Monday.

The rather egregious flop took place in the fourth quarter of Saturday's game at the Toyota Center. In danger of stepping out of bounds on the baseline, Harden fell to the floor as if Clippers forward Blake Griffin had pushed him. There was absolutely no contact, but he fooled an official into calling a foul on Griffin.

Previously, Harden was issued a warning by the league for his flop against the Portland Trail Blazers. Six other players have received flop warnings so far this season, but Harden is the only one who has been caught again and earned a fine.

Harden is averaging 24.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.4 assists over seven games this year.
