NASCAR at Homestead-Miami weather forecast: Could weekend showers be a problem?

Storms system coming off the Gulf of Mexico will spread rain showers across south Florida today. Some of those showers could be heavy. Could these showers impact the Nationwide season finale?

NASCAR closes out the 2013 season in the same state it started, Florida, and with a similar threat of Florida showers for the weekend. The weather forecast is split with Saturday featuring the best chance for showers and Sunday nice, warm and mostly dry.

Storms system coming off the Gulf of Mexico will spread rain showers across south Florida today. Some of those showers could be heavy. The best chance of showers will be during the morning but a few are possible in the afternoon. Will monitor the radar as we go through the day

Sunday’s Sprint Cup finale looks mostly dry, warm with a mix of sunshine and clouds. There’s a small chance of an isolated shower developing on Sunday, but I think the threat is almost non existent. Temperatures today and Sunday are nice and warm with afternoon highs in the low to mid 80s.
