Kansas vs. Kansas State final score: Wildcats dominate Jayhawks 31-10

Kansas State capitalized on six Kansas turnovers to take the victory in the Sunflower Showdown.

The Kansas State Wildcats finished their regular season with a victory in the Sunflower Showdown over Kansas 31-10.

A John Hubert touchdown was sandwiched between two Jake Waters touchdown passes to put the Wildcats up 21-0 ten seconds into the second quarter. Jake Heaps threw a touchdown pass for Kansas. K-State fumbled the ensuing kickoff, and Kansas followed up with a field goal to bring the score to 21-10 entering halftime.

In the third quarter, this happened:

Second down ended in an interception on a deep pass, because first-and-42.

Kansas had six turnovers on the day, which ended up being the main determining factor. A Heaps interception deep into Kansas State territory early in the fourth quarter seemed to be the killer. He then threw another interception, this one is his own territory, to ultimately finish off any chance Kansas had of coming back.

Box Score Hero: John Hubert ran for 220 yards on 30 carries with one touchdown.

Jake Waters went 10/21 for 160 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. He also ran for a score

But Did They Cover? Kansas State was favored by anywhere from 16 1/2 to 18, so they covered.
