The Kansas State Wildcats finished their regular season with a victory in the Sunflower Showdown over Kansas 31-10.

Kansas State capitalized on six Kansas turnovers to take the victory in the Sunflower Showdown.


A John Hubert touchdown was sandwiched between two Jake Waters touchdown passes to put the Wildcats up 21-0 ten seconds into the second quarter. Jake Heaps threw a touchdown pass for Kansas. K-State fumbled the ensuing kickoff, and Kansas followed up with a field goal to bring the score to 21-10 entering halftime.

Kansas had six turnovers on the day, which ended up being the main determining factor. A Heaps interception deep into Kansas State territory early in the fourth quarter seemed to be the killer. He then threw another interception, this one is his own territory, to ultimately finish off any chance Kansas had of coming back.
