The Minnesota Vikings added depth to their roster of cornerbacks Monday, signing Roderick Williams, who was previously with the Canadian Football League's Edmonton Eskimos.
Vikings sign CFL cornerback Roderick Williams
Minnesota dipped into the Canadian Football League for some help at cornerback.

Williams spent the last three seasons with the Eskimos, compiling 111 tackles and 11 interceptions, and he was named as CFL West Division all-star in 2011. During that season, Williams had 44 tackles and six interceptions. He played his college football at Alcorn State, and with a listed 40-yard dash time of 4.53 at the 2010 NFL Combine, he could provide help as a kick returner in addition to his duties on defense.
The Vikings’ pass defense left much to be desired in 2012, ranking 24th in the NFL by allowing 244.2 yards per game in the regular season. Minnesota tied for 27th with just 10 interceptions, and the secondary allowed opposing quarterbacks completed 63.9 percent of their passes, which tied for 26th in the league.
