NBA trade rumors: Spurs still trying to move DeJuan Blair

San Antonio has been trying to move the young big man for weeks, but still hasn’t been able to find the right fit.

Soobum Im-US PRESSWIRE

The Spurs are still interested in dealing Dejuan Blair before he becomes a free agent at the end of the season, but they've had no luck in finding the right deal, according to a report from Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

Blair, a fourth-year forward from Pittsburgh, has seen his playing time steadily diminish in San Antonio as the team has gone with a bigger front-line, but he’s been productive whenever he’s seen the floor. He’s averaging 5 points and 4 rebounds on 51 percent shooting this season in only 13 minutes a game, good for a PER of 15.4.

He would help a lot of teams as a reserve big man, but because he’s almost certain to hit the market this off-season, teams may not be willing to give up much to acquire him at this point.

If the Spurs can’t get any attractive assets for Blair at the deadline, they may decide to hold on to him for the rest of the season just for depth reasons.
