“The Next Knuckleballer” ends tonight

So I’ve been watching THE NEXT KNUCKLER on MLB Network. I’m not saying it’s great television, but in February it’s a hell of a lot better than nothing and I’ve now seen more episodes of this program than all the other “reality” TV shows combined (well, except for this one, but tanks don’t count).

Anyway, we’re down to the last episode, with the winner getting a “shot” with the Arizona Diamondbacks in spring training ...

Wednesday night’s episode was actually my favorite, with Charlie Hough showing up, and video clips of Wilbur Wood, Phil Niekro, and even old Eddie Rommel.

Anyway (SPOILER ALERT) the competition is down to two: Josh Booty vs. David Greene, and my money’s on Booty because of course he’s played a LOT of baseball, and so I’m guessing he’s had an easier time with the muscle memory necessary to throw a knuckleball with any sort of consistency.
