The Seattle Seahawks have 13 players on their roster ready to hit hit free agency when March 12 rolls around, and it doesn't look like the team will place a franchise tag on any of those names. Teams must use a franchise tag by March 4 or go without using one for the upcoming season. Expect the Seahawks to be in that boat.

Only two starters on offense and defense have the chance of testing the open market. Defensive tackle Alan Branch and linebacker Leroy Hill both started for the Seahawks defense in 2012, but they don't appear to be promising candidates for a tag. Branch would cost nearly $8 million. His play isn't to the level to justify that type of cap hit. Hill was arrested for domestic violence and might be on his way on.
General manager John Schneider told the media Thursday he doesn’t see his team using a franchise tag in the small window remaining before the deadline. While he and his staff with continue to evaluate the situation, it’s likely a safe bet they’ll pass the situation up altogether.
As Pro Football Talk notes, kicker Steven Hauschka is the most worthy player on the Seahawks roster for a tag if they were to change their minds. It would only cost Seattle $2.9 million, and Haushka did convert 24 of 27 field goal attempts last season.
