The New York Rangers injury woes worsened on Saturday night during a 3-0 loss to the Montreal Canadiens, losing both Ryan McDonagh and Dan Girardi to injury during the game. Girardi was injured while blocking a shot and did not return after being helped off the ice.
Dan Girardi injury: X-rays negative for Rangers defenseman
X-rays on Dan Girardi’s foot came back negative for any breaks in his foot.

TSN’s Bob McKenzie is reporting that x-rays on Girardi’s injured foot have come back negative, although the defenseman still suffered a badly bruised foot from the shot.
The Rangers were already without Michael Del Zotto, who was out with a hip injury, and McDonagh was lost in the second period after being hit face first into the boards by Max Pacioretty. Forward Rick Nash is also on injured reserve with an undisclosed injury.
New York has now lost three straight games and four of their last five to fall to 8-7-2 and are now one point out of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
