The No.1 Davidson Wildcats are returning the the Southern Conference tournament finals, and will face a new opponent this season: the No. 4 Charleston Cougars.
2013 Southern Conference Tournament results and bracket: Davidson, Charleston to meet in finals
The Davidson Wildcats and the Charleston Cougars won their semi-final games in the Southern Conference tournament, and will meet in the finals on Monday.


Davidson trailed by as many as 13 in their semi-final game, but came back to defeat the No. 4 Appalachian St. Mountaineers 65-62. Appalachian State held a 41-28 lead early in the second half, but Davidson clawed their way back into the game, and used a 16-4 run to regain the lead.
Jake Cohen led all scorers with 17 points, while De`Mon Brooks scored 16 for Davidson. Forward Nathan Healy played all 40 minutes for the Mountaineers, scoring 14 points and grabbing seven rebounds.
Charleston pulled the upset in the second semi-final, defeating the Elon Phoenix 68-60. Willis Hall had an impressive performance for the Cougars, scoring 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting while grabbing 10 rebounds. Andrew Lawrence scored 19 points for Charleston, while Anthony Thomas added 10.
Davidson and Charleston will meet Monday night at the U.S. Cellular Center in Asheville, N.C. The game will tip off at 7 p.m. ET, with coverage on ESPN2. Davidson won the tournament last season, a 93-91 Double-OT thriller against the Western Carolina Catamounts.
