Detroit Red Wings forward Darren Helm is expected to return to the team's lineup in the near future, general manager Ken Holland said Wednesday night.
Darren Helm injury: Red Wings forward nearing return
Darren Helm could potentially return to the starting lineup as early as next Wednesday.

Holland stated during media availability that Helm potentially could return as early as next Wednesday, barring any unforeseen setbacks. The Red Wings play the Minnesota Wild that day. Coincidentally, Helm has only managed to play in one game this season, which was a 5-3 victory over the Wild on Jan. 25.
The 26-year-old forward has been battling a sore back, which is believed to be the result of a small tear in one of his discs. It is believed that Helm sustained the injury while lifting weights in January before the start of the 2013 season.
Developments have appeared positive in Helm returning to full health. After skating by himself for several days, he has been able to participate in team practices and was able to skate for 90 minutes on Wednesday.
