It didn't take long for the Kansas Jayhawks to show why they are the perennial class of the Big 12, handling Texas Tech, 91-63, Thursday in the Big 12 Tournament second round. Superstar freshman Ben McLemore sliced and diced his way to 24 points, as Kansas moves on and will face Iowa State on Friday.
Kansas vs. Texas Tech results: No. 1 Jayhawks steamroll Red Raiders in Big 12 Tournament
Ben McLemore scored 24 as Kansas advanced to play Iowa State in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Tournament.

Two free throws by McLemore put the Jayhawks up 15-2 just six minutes into the game. Kansas cruised from there, never letting the Red Raiders sniff the lead the rest of the way. Rio Adams scored 11 off the bench for the Jayhawks, including two three-pointers on two attempts. Kansas as a whole shot 66.0 percent, with center Jeff Withey and forward Kevin Young each hitting all three of their shots and combining to block four shots.
Dejan Kravic led the way in the losing effort for Texas Tech by scoring 20, hitting 7-of-12 field goals. Dusty Hannahs had 15 off the bench, living behind the arc with 3-of-4 shooting from downtown.
For the third time this season, Kansas will be taking on Iowa State. The first two games went to overtime, and the second was marred by controversy at the end of regulation. Even with both teams securely in the tournament, there is no doubt the Cyclones will be gunning to dethrone the regular season champion Jayhawks.
