Andy McDonald injury: Blues forward expected to return Tuesday night

St. Louis Blues forward Andy McDonald is expected to return against the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday night. He has missed 10 consecutive games.

St. Louis Blues forward Andy McDonald is expected to return to the team's lineup when they challenge the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday night, according to a report by Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch on Monday afternoon.

McDonald was placed on injured reserve due to a lower-body injury sustained during a practice on Feb. 26. The Blues were participating in what is known as the "battle drill," where two nets are separated by 30 feet and the team engages in a scrimmage. During the drill, McDonald collided with Vladimir Sobotka and appeared to injure his knee.

He has been forced to sit out 10 games since.

However, he is expected to be removed from injured reserve, as the Blues announced that they had assigned forward Adam Cracknell to the club's American Hockey League affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen, on Monday morning. It is believed the transaction was made in order to create a roster spot for McDonald.
