It’s Selection Monday for women’s college basketball, as the tournament field will be set this evening following an eventful season. Perennial contenders like Baylor, UConn, Stanford and Notre Dame will most likely be awarded the top seeds while other teams sit patiently on the bubble, waiting to see if their year-long toil culminates in a postseason berth.

It’s the women’s turn to post a bracket, as 34 teams will be chosen to join the 30 automatic entrants that won their conference tournaments this year.

ESPN will air the hour-long program starting at 7 p.m. ET on the flagship network, with an hour of extended coverage to follow on ESPNU. All of the bracket breakdowns and upset picks can also be found online live at WatchESPN.
The field currently sits at 30, with those teams clinching spots in the tourney by winning their conference tournaments. Or, in the case of the pesky Ivy League, winning the regular season title. The remaining 34 will be selected by a committee from the remaining teams whose resumes are up to snuff.
Complete coverage of the bracket, matchups, and games as they happen can be found at SB Nation’s women’s basketball blog, Swish Appeal. Don’t miss a rundown of five teams to watch, or a look at what could be another classic matchup between UConn and Tennessee.
