José Théodore injury: Panthers goaltender injured in first period

The netminder injured his leg while stopping a scoring chance.

The Florida Panthers just lost their starting goaltender, and it doesn't look good.

Veteran netminder José Théodore had to be helped off the ice early in the first period after stopping a scoring chance by the Carolina Hurricanes. He didn't seem to be hurt by any sort of collision. Instead it looked like he tweaked either his right knee or his groin while extending himself to stop the shot. He immediately collapsed to the ice and couldn't put any weight on his right leg as he skated to the locker room.

His backup, Scott Clemmensen, immediately allowed three goals (thanks in part to some awful defense from his teammates.) An awful start for the Panthers on Saturday night.
