NASCAR Fontana 2013 schedule: Auto Club 400 set for Sunday afternoon
The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series gears up for its fifth race of the year.
But first, festivities get underway Friday with a Sprint Cup practice session at 2:30 p.m. ET. Later, the Speed Channel will air qualifying for Sunday’s Auto Club 400, with television coverage starting at 7 p.m. ET.
On Saturday the Nationwide Series takes center stage with the running of the Royal Purple 300. The race begins at 5 p.m. ET and will be televised on ESPN.
Sunday, at 3 p.m. ET, the Sprint Cup Series begins the Auto Club 400, as Fox will televise the race.
Last year Tony Stewart won at the Auto Club Speedway after rainy weather forced the race to run 71 laps shorter. In the current Sprint Cup standings, Penske Racing’s Brad Keselowski, with top five finishes in all four races thus far, sits atop the leaderboard. Dale Earnhardt Jr and Jimmie Johnson round out the top three, respectively, while Kasey Kahne, winner of last week’s Food City 500, jumped up to seventh place overall.
