Qualifying for the Auto Club 400 at Fontana, Calif., gets underway on Friday. Tony Stewart won this race last season, and he is still looking for his first victory of 2013.
NASCAR Fontana 2013 qualifying: Tony Stewart tries to defend title
Stewart won this event a year ago, and he could use another strong finish after a slow start to 2013.

Four drivers have won races this season, though points leader Brad Keselowski is not among them. Keselowski reached the top of the standings through consistency -- he’s finished in the top five in each of the first four races, which helped him leap ahead of Daytona 500 winner Jimmie Johnson.
Matt Kenseth is one of the drivers with a victory at this early stage of the season, and he has had good luck at Fontana in the past. He has won this event three times since 2006.
Qualifying gets underway at approximately 7:10 p.m. ET, and Speed Network will have the coverage. A complete schedule of the day’s events is available here.
