Through the first two periods in regulation, and for the better part of the third period, the Red Wings had a shot. With just under three minutes off the clock in the 3rd, Tomas Tatar scored the game's first goal, putting Detroit up 1-0 over the Chicago Blackhawks. And that lead held up for over 15 minutes.

The Chicago Blackhawks continue to extend their NHL record of unbeaten games in regulation, and after Sunday’s contest versus the Red Wings, that streak is currently sitting at 22 games.

But 2013 seems to be the 'Hawks season, and they have yet to be beaten in regulation. With just over two minutes left in the game, Patrick Kane scored a power play goal, and Chicago's current streak was extended to 22 games.
Overtime was unsuccessful for both teams, but despite no goals being scored, this seemed like playoff hockey from beginning to end.
Corey Crawford was in the net for Chicago during the shootout and held Detroit to zero points. And then, of course, Kane happened. Again.
And just like that, the Chicago Blackhawks defeated the Detroit Red Wings, 2-1, and continued their utter domination of the National Hockey League.
