Cullen Jenkins visits 49ers, Raiders and Seahawks

Defensive lineman Cullen Jenkins may be eyeing a move to the West Coast.

Eric Hartline-US PRESSWIRE

Cullen Jenkins is one of the better defensive linemen available on the market this offseason, drawing interest from several teams. Jenkins visited with the Seattle Seahawks Monday, and he has upcoming visits planned to the San Francisco 49ers and Oakland Raiders, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.

Jenkins had a decent 2012 season with the Philadelphia Eagles, but with the team trying to free up salary cap space and go in a new direction under head coach Chip Kelly, he was recently released. In 16 games, Jenkins compiled 26 tackles and added four sacks and four tackles for loss. Those numbers dropped off from his debut season with the Eagles in 2011, in which he had 40 tackles, 5.5 sacks and six tackles for loss.

Jenkins, a product of Central Michigan, just completed his ninth NFL season. During his career, he has totaled 260 tackles, 38.5 sacks and 28 tackles for loss. He spent the last two season’s in Philadelphia’s 4-3 defense, the same alignment employed by Oakland and Seattle. But Jenkins has experience in the 3-4, too, which could make him a nice match for San Francisco.
