Michigan vs. Purdue final score: Wolverines escape in West Lafayette 80-75

After trailing by double digits to the Boliermakers in the second half, the Wolverines came storming back to beat Purdue.

USA TODAY Sports

After a close win over the Michigan St. Spartans a few days ago, things got more stressful for the No. 7 Michigan Wolverines. They were down as much as a dozen points to the Purdue Boilermakers in the second half, but were able to come back for an 80-75 win.

Despite the efforts of Purdue guard Terone Johnson (who dropped a game-high 32 points) and a big advantage on the offensive glass (12 offensive boards for Purdue and six for Michigan), turnovers undid the Boilermakers. They coughed the ball up 13 times compared to just five turnovers for the Wolverines.

Three Wolverines ended the night in double figures, led by one of the Big Ten's best in Trey Burke, who had 26 points. Nik Stauskas and Tim Hardaway Jr. joined him in the double-digit point column with 17 and 16 points.

Besides Johnson's 32 points, Rapheal Davis had 15 points and Sandi Marcius came off the bench to finish with 13 points. Between the three of them, they accounted for 80 percent of Purdue's points.

Michigan will close out the season at home against the No. 2 Indiana Hoosiers, while the Boilersmakers will finish the regular season with a home matchup against the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
