Tiger Woods joins four others at the top of the leaderboard after a first-round 66 has him at 6-under after the opening round at the 2013 WGC-Cadillac Championship. Woods had an eventful day, holing nine birdies against three bogeys and three pars.

Tiger Woods is off to a fast start in Doral, Fla.


Freddie Jacobson, Sergio Garcia, Graeme McDowell, and Bubba Watson also find themselves tied for first on Thursday evening. Jacobson climbed to the lead with the help of two eagles in three holes. Watson was more steady, with seven birdies and one bogey.
Rory McIlroy struggled in Round 1, finishing the day tied for 50th at 1-over. Things looked up for McIlroy after the first hole, as he holed an eagle. It was downhill from there as he followed with three-consecutive bogeys.
Defending champion Justin Rose is in the hunt. Rose shot a 68 on Thursday, putting him two strokes behind the leaders in a tie for 10th place. Rose had a bogey-free day and used four birdies to round out his score.
A handful of players are one stroke behind the leaders, including Phil Mickelson. Lefty holed three birdies on the front-nine and two on the back-nine for his 67.
