Hopkins vs Cloud weigh-in results: Bernard 174.4, Tavoris 173.8

Bernard Hopkins and Tavoris Cloud come in under light heavyweight limit for their HBO Championship Boxing clash.

Few things are certain in the boxing world, but a weigh-in where Bernard Hopkins comes in on weight and then things get heated is about as reliable as anything in the sport. Hopkins and opponent Tavoris Cloud hit the scales ahead of tomorrow night’s HBO Championship Boxing bout which sees the two go head-to-head for the IBF light heavyweight championship and neither man had any issue making weight.

Cloud was on the scale first, coming in at 173.8 pounds with Hopkins following up at 174.4. The light heavyweight limit is 175, so there were no issues that will hold the bout up.

There was, however, a predictable moment when the two men got a little too close during the staredown and things seemed “heated.” But that was quickly calmed down.

Keith Thurman came in at 145.8 while Jan Zaveck, 36, was 146.6 for their bout which will open tomorrow night’s broadcast. The bout is a WBO eliminator, putting the winner in line for a title shot.
