After earning a share of the lead in the WGC-Cadillac Championship on Thursday, Tiger Woods took sole control of the leaderboard with a second-round of 65 on Friday. Woods finished with only one bogey, completing the par-4 14th hole in five strokes, but nullified it with eight birdies.

Only Charl Schwartzel of South Africa was able to keep pace with Woods, finishing with seven birdies and a matching score of 65. After finishing with 71 strokes in the opening round, Schwartzel climbed 26 spots up the leaderboard into a tie for sixth after 36 holes.

Graeme McDowell, who entered the day in a tie for the tournament lead with Woods and three other golfers, fell two strokes behind to finish 11-under par, still good for second place. Things didn’t go as well for Sergio Garcia, who also entered the day with a share of the lead before two bogeys and a double bogey during the back nine dropped him to 10th.

The third round of the tournament will continue on Saturday at the Trump Doral Golf Club and Resort in Miami.
