NFL Draft 2013: Eddie Lacy ‘frustrates’ scouts with workout schedule change

Running back Eddie Lacy delayed his workout multiple times, and NFL scouts are running thin on patience.

Joe Robbins

NFL Draft scouts are growing frustrated with running back Eddie Lacy's workout schedule, according to NFL Draft Insider. Lacy suffered a hamstring injury in mid-February, and he didn't work out at the NFL Combine later that month or Alabama's pro day on March 13.

Lacy is scheduled to hold a personal workout on April 11, but the numerous delays have left scouts wondering whether or not the 22-year-old is healthy or if he just isn’t as fast as many would hope. The former Crimson Tide standout has been projected as potentially the only running back worth selecting in the first round, but if he continues to disappoint scouts, Lacy could see his name slide down the draft board.

Lacy rushed for 1,322 yards in 2012, second-most among SEC running backs. He added 17 touchdowns, and his 6.5 yards per carry led SEC backs with at least 10 rushes per game. Standing 5’11 and weighing in at 231 pounds, Lacy possesses the size required to be a bruising NFL ball carrier.
