Qualifying for the NRA 500 at Texas Motor Speedway gets started on Friday evening. Greg Biffle won this event last year, and while he has three top-10 finishes in six races this season, he is still looking for his first victory of 2013. Jimmie Johnson finished first at Martinsville last weekend, making him the first repeat winner of the young season.
NASCAR at Texas Motor Speedway 2013 qualifying: Jimmie Johnson tries to build on lead in points standings
The Sprint Cup series is in Texas this weekend for the NRA 500, and everyone is chasing Jimmie Johnson in the standings.

Thanks in large part to that pair of victories, Johnson heads into the weekend on top of the Sprint Cup standings. Brad Keselowski and Dale Earnhardt Jr. aren’t far off the pace, and they’ll be two of the drivers to watch this weekend. Both of them have five top-10 finishes already this season, though neither has made it to victory lane.
Qualifying begins at approximately 6:40 p.m. ET Friday night, and the Speed Network will have full coverage.
