Dustin Brown to have disciplinary hearing for elbowing Pominville

The Kings captain was not penalized on Tuesday night, yet he’ll face a disciplinary hearing with the NHL for his elbow of the Wild forward.

USA TODAY Sports

Los Angeles Kings captain Dustin Brown will have a hearing at 2 p.m. ET on Wednesday for his elbow to the face of Minnesota Wild forward Jason Pominville, according to Sportsnet's John Shannon:

The hit occurred along the boards midway through the second period, with the Wild leading 2-0 over Los Angeles. As Brown was playing the puck, he braced for a hit from Pominville and had his elbow hit the Wild forward high in the face on the play. You can see the hit below:

There was no penalty on the play.

Brown has never been suspended, despite a history of questionable hits throughout his career. One such play came just the game before, when he hit Antoine Roussel of the Dallas Stars up high with what appeared to be a direct shot to the head. No penalty was called on the play.
