NFL Draft 2013: Dee Milliner ‘feels good’ after shoulder surgery

Former Alabama cornerback Dee Milliner is recovering well from shoulder surgery.

USA TODAY Sports

Former Alabama cornerback Dee Milliner underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in March, and he is out of his sling and "feels good," according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press.

Milliner is considered by many to be the top cornerback prospect, and his recovery from the surgery seems to be the only thing that could potentially keep him from going off the board in the first 10 picks. As a junior at Alabama last season, he compiled 54 tackles, four tackles for loss, two interceptions, 1.5 sacks and 22 passes defended. He led a Crimson Tide passing defense that led the SEC, allowing opponents to put up just 173.6 yards per game through the air.

Milliner was in Detroit Monday for a visit with the Lions, who may look to boost their secondary through the draft. Detroit ranked 14th in pass defense last season, giving up 223.1 yards per game. The Lions had compiled just 11 interceptions, tied for seventh-fewest in the league.

In the latest SB Nation Mock Draft, Milliner was projected to go to the Cleveland Browns at No. 6 overall.
