2013 NASCAR All-Star Race weather forecast: Possible scattered showers

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are once again a threat for another NASCAR race weekend, this time for the NASCAR Sprint Cup All-Star race. Check out the complete weather forecast.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are once again a threat for another NASCAR race weekend, this time in NASCAR’s backyard of Charlotte Motor Speedway. The weather pattern we are seeing is a very summer-like pattern with a warm, moist southerly flow that will help spark scattered showers and storms during the afternoon and evening today and again on Saturday.

Because the showers and storms will be scattered there is no telling when and where a shower will form or if and when it will hit the track. All we know is that there is a possibility of delays because of rain tonight and again tomorrow for the Sprint Cup All-Star race.

Anytime rain is in the forecast for any track the number one question is, “Will we get the race in?” Like the last two weekend I do anticipate getting the race in but there is also a chance that we see delays because of weather. Night races make it tough because it’s already late and it is harder to dry the track due to no sun to help dry the track.

Not knowing where showers or storms will pop up over the weekend it will be important to follow me on Twitter @NASCAR_WXMAN and like me on Facebook for the latest weather updates throughout the weekend.
