On the morning of the 2013 Kentucky Derby, experts from around the horse racing landscape are submitting their picks to win the Run for the Roses. As of Saturday morning, Revolutionary and Goldencents were the gamblers’ choices to win at 5/1 odds, but there are no unanimous darlings.
Kentucky Derby 2013 picks and predictions: Experts can’t agree on favorite
The one thing we know before the Kentucky Derby is that we know nothing.

At SB Nation’s horse racing blog, And Down The Stretch They Come, the four team members each picked different horses, choosing Overanalyze, Goldencents, Itsmyluckyday and Verrazano. The experts at ESPN.com, Amanda Duckworth and Bob Ehalt, picked Orb and Revolutionary, respectively. At The New York Times, there were four picks for Orb and one pick each for Revolutionary, Verrazano, Itsmyluckyday and Normandy Invasion.
The local paper, the Louisville Courier-Journal, had seven different writers make their picks. Three have Orb to win, two have Normandy Invasion and two have Revolutionary.
If the winner is any horse besides Orb, Revolutionary, Normandy Invasion, Verrazano, Goldencents or Itsmyluckyday (go Palace Malice!), everyone is going to look really dumb.
