A look at the schedule for NASCAR’s weekend at the Michigan International Speedway.

Tim Fuller-US PRESSWIRE

The Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Mich., plays host to NASCAR’s packed weekend of events, beginning on Friday with Sprint Cup Series qualifying and a final practice for Nationwide Series drivers.

After the Nationwide Series’ final practice in preparation for the Alliance Truck Parts 250 on Saturday, Sprint Cup Series drivers begin qualifying at 3:30 p.m. ET on Friday afternoon. The two-lap run over the track will be televised on the SPEED channel.

On Saturday, a Sprint Cup Series practice in the morning (from 9:30-10:25 a.m. ET) is followed up by qualifying for the Nationwide Series’ Alliance Truck Parts 250 at 10:35 a.m., which will be televised on ESPN2. The final practice for Sprint Cup Series drivers sits in between that and the start of the Nationwide Series Race. Television coverage of the Alliance Truck Parts 250 begins at 2 p.m. on ABC.

Sunday, pre-race coverage for the Sprint Cup Series starts on TNT at 12 p.m., and the SPEED channel’s NASCAR Raceday pre-race show starts at 10 a.m. that morning. Television coverage of the race itself starts on TNT at 1 p.m., and the green flag is expected to be waved for the Sprint Cup’s Quicken Loans 400 at about 1:16 p.m. on Sunday afternoon (via Jayski’s).
