The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is in Michigan this weekend for the Quicken Loans 400, and qualifying for the race begins at approximately 3:35 p.m. ET on Friday afternoon. SPEED will provide live television coverage.
NASCAR Michigan 2013 qualifying: Dale Earnhardt Jr., Denny Hamlin hope recent success continues
Earnhardt Jr. and Hamlin have combined to win this event in four of the last five seasons.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. has won this event twice in the last five seasons, including last year. A win this time around would be his first Sprint Cup victory of 2013 and also help him gain ground on points leader Jimmie Johnson. Denny Hamlin has had his share of success at Michigan as well, winning here in both 2010 and 2011. Aside from those two, Mark Martin is the only other active driver to have won this race multiple times. Both Martin and Hamlin are well outside the top 10 in the points standings, so they could certainly use the boost from a strong finish this weekend.
The Quicken Loans 400, which will be televised by TNT, is set to begin around 1:16 p.m. Sunday.
