The only weather concern we have this weekend at Race Sonoma for the NASCAR Sprint Cup series race is the chance for rain showers and possible drizzle Sunday afternoon.
2013 NASCAR At Sonoma: Chance of rain remains for Sunday
We don’t normally expect rain when NASCAR visits Sonoma, California but an unusual Pacific storm could spread more clouds and possible showers for Sunday

Like most of these systems, its not a matter if it’s going to rain but when. Timing these storms can be difficult. I anticipate a weak wave arriving late morning. I don’t think it has much with it but maybe a few drops or drizzle are possible. The next wave will be the main front and this will bring showers late in the day, more towards evening. In the forecast I am going to prepare for afternoon showers but I think most if not all of it holds off until after the race on Sunday.
The odds of NASCAR racing Sunday is around 75%. I think they can get at least to halfway if not farther. At this point I am banking on a full race but knowing I will need to watch the radar during the race.
