A small chance of rain showers and drizzle remain in the forecast for today’s Sprint Cup series race at Sonoma Raceway. Storm system coming in off the Pacific will spread clouds and bring cooler temperatures for Sunday afternoon. While most of the day looks dry across northern California, the approaching system and cool moist onshore flow could spark a scattered shower or some pockets of drizzle.
2013 NASCAR At Sonoma race day weather forecast
Storm system off the Pacific will make race day cooler and cloudy for the NASCAR Sprint Cup series Toyota/Save Mart 350, but there is also a small chance of rain.

After highs in the 80s the last couple of days in Sonoma, California, temperatures will be the coolest they have been all weekend only getting into the low 70s. Cloudy to mostly cloudy skies with gusty winds out of the west between 10 and 20 mph gusting to near 25 mph.
I put the odds of getting a complete race in today at around 70% to 75%. This is a challenging forecast and radar will need to be monitored during the morning and into the afternoon. While I think weather related delays or even a wash out are low, there is still a chance of some precipitation today, especially as we go into the afternoon.
