NFL Network will be all over Hall of Fame weekend

The network descends on Canton for the annual show.

NFL Network will be in typical all-out fashion this weekend for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Ceremony. The league-owned network will kick off a few days of shows, including live coverage from Canton, Ohio, starting in the middle of next week. It certainly helps that one of the network’s own voices -- Warren Sapp -- will be honored.

Thursday, Aug. 1 at 10 p.m. ET, the network holds a roundtable show called Class for the Ages. Sapp, Deion Sanders, Michael Irvin and Warren Moon will debate players they believe should be in the Hall of Fame, talk about the late Deacon Jones, and discuss what it means to be Hall of Famer.

On Friday, Aug. 2, the network airs a one-hour special called Warren Sapp: Relentless at 8 p.m. ET. It shines a spotlight on the career of the former defensive lineman, who will enter the Hall of Fame on Saturday. Brett Favre was among those interviewed for the show, along with Tony Dungy, John Lynch, and Drew Rosenhaus.

Then on the day of enshrinement, Saturday, Aug. 3, the network will air three hours of pre-show coverage with its NFL Total Access show live from Canton. The excellent Rich Eisen is joined by Sanders, Irvin, Marshall Faulk, Steve Mariucci, Brian Billick and Stacey Dales. Willie McGinest and Harry Carson will be along to break down Bill Parcells’ coaching style, and there will also be a feature on Chris Carter.

Coverage ends on Wednesday, Aug. 7 with The Rich Eisen Hall of Fame Special. Filmed from the Hall of Fame in Canton, Eisen will be joined by Hall of Famers Jim Kelly and Howie Long to discuss the history of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2013.

Overall, the network will air nine hours of fresh coverage from Thursday-Wednesday. It feels good to almost be discussing football again. Then again, that only leads into the pre-season, so were almost talking about almost football.
