After playing seventeen games with Perth in 2012/13, Ryo Nagai is coming back to the Glory on a full-season loan from J.League side Cerezo Osaka. The 22-year-old playmaker scored twice in the A-League last season and was instrumental in propelling Perth into the finals.
Ryo Nagai returns to Perth Glory
The Japanese attacker rejoins Perth on a full-season loan from the J.League’s Cerezo Osaka.

Said manager of Alistair Edwards of the renewed loan, in a club press release:
“I’m thrilled that we’ve managed to bring Ryo back to the club for the whole of next season. Ryo finished last season extremely well and became very much a crowd favourite. He’s very versatile and can play wide on the right or left and also down the middle and he’s so well though of here at Glory. He’s become one of the family and everyone loves him. The players have so much respect for him, he’s a great guy to have around and he’s very exciting to watching. Ryo himself loves it here and he’s the one who really pushed for the move.”
With rising stars Daniel De Silva and Jamie Maclaren already in the fold, Nagai adds yet another young, attacking presence to what looks like an exciting Glory side. If Perth are able to capture Richard Garcia to provide service to the bevy of forwards, a finals appearance could be just the start of the expectations for the Glory.
