After Canada's loss to Martinique, fans of the United States might be taking Belize a bit less lightly. That probably shouldn't be the case. While Belize did have to post good showings against respectable teams to get here, they're a team filled with amateur players, most of whom are police officers or members of the military. Martinique has actual professionals from France.
USA vs. Belize, 2013 Gold Cup: Preview and TV schedule
The United States’ B-team will be seriously tested multiple times in this Gold Cup. Tuesday night should not be one of those times.

This is the first-ever Gold Cup for Belize, who stunningly finished ahead of Panama in their qualifying tournament. The big show is likely to be much more difficult for them, and it would be surprising if they were able to avoid multi-goal defeats against the U.S. and Costa Rica.
For the U.S., all eyes will be on Landon Donovan, who is trying to play his way back into the first-choice national team squad. The only current first-choice players in this U.S. team are those based in Mexico. Keep an eye on midfielders Mikkel Diskerud and Stuart Holden if they play. The U.S. is loaded in midfield, but they're two of the country's most talented players and likely to garner more call-ups if they have a strong Gold Cup.
Match date/time: Tuesday, 11 p.m. ET
Venue: JELD-WEN Field, Portland, Oregon
TV: FOX Soccer (U.S. - English), UniMas (U.S. - Spanish), Sportsnet World (Canada), ESPN (U.K.)
