Cutler admitted after the game that there wasn’t a real gameplan for the Bears in the preseason opener. The team is still making the transition to a new offense, and reports indicate Cutler has a good understanding of the playbook.
Fantasy impact: With Trestman at the helm, he’s forcing Cutler to learn how to finally check down instead of forcing passes every chance he gets. Seeing him throw a pick with his first pass of the year isn’t what owners wanted to see, but that shouldn’t be cause for concern, yet.
Continue to consider Cutler as a QB2. With Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffery and Matt Forte, the Bears offense has enough weapons to develop into a high-scoring machine. Cutler has upside with this group.
