With Jeremy Maclin out for the season with an ACL tear, DeSean Jackson is now the No. 1 receiver in the Eagles offense. He proved his big-play ability hasn’t disappeared as he burned Aqib Talib for a 47-yard score in Philadelphia’s preseason opener against the Patriots.
DeSean Jackson hauls in huge score, fantasy value looking up
The Eagles are looking thin at wide receiver, but DeSean Jackson is proving he still has the ability to burn corners on the outside. We break down the fantasy implications.

Jackson didn’t play much, which was expected after the recent string of injuries to the Eagles receiving corps. The veteran made the most of his time, though.
Fantasy impact: After reports from practice indicated Jackson was consistently beating Talib, he showed everyone what he’s capable of in the first quarter of the preseason opener. Michael Vick threw a beautiful pass to hit him downfield as well.
Assuming Vick remains the starter heading into the regular season, Jackson will be a top target for him. His vertical speed makes him a deep threat on every play. Consider him to have WR2 upside now with Maclin out of the picture.
