NASCAR Michigan 2013 schedule: Practice, qualifying begin Friday

The Sprint Cup Series is in Michigan this weekend, where Greg Biffle is trying to defend his 2012 victory.

The festivities leading up to the Pure Michigan 400 get underway early Friday; the drivers will get in a practice session beginning at noon before a qualifying session later in the afternoon. Both of those events will be televised live.

On Saturday, there are two more practice sessions, and the main event is set for a start at about 1 p.m. ET on Sunday. Here is the full weekend schedule, including television information, for the Sprint Cup Series in Michigan:

Friday

Practice: Noon - 1:30 p.m. (TV: Speed)
Qualifying: 3:40 p.m. (TV: Speed)

Saturday

Practice: 8-9:25 a.m. (TV: Fox Sports 1)
Happy Hour Practice: 11-11:55 a.m. (TV: Fox Sports 1)

Sunday

Pure Michigan 400: 1 p.m. (TV: ESPN)

Three active drivers have won this race multiple times, including Greg Biffle, who was victorious in 2012. Mark Martin and Bobby Labonte are the other two, though neither of them has won the event since the 1990s.
