Usain Bolt exploded out of the blocks and cruised to another easy finish, winning gold in the 200-meter dash Saturday at the IAAF World Championships in Moscow, Russia.

Bolt won the race in 19.66 seconds while his countryman, Warren Weir, finished in second at 19.79, but the race wasn’t nearly that close. Bolt pulled up and seemed to want to let Weir catch up to him in the last 30 meters or so. American Chris Mitchell closed valiantly to edge out the field for bronze in 20.24 seconds.

Despite his world-renowned prowess in the 100-meter dash, the 200 meter is Bolt’s best race and he became the first man to win three world championships in the event. Many sprinting fans still consider his 19.19 at the 2009 world championships his finest performance, beating what many people thought was an unbreakable mark, Michael Johnson’s 19.32, set in 1996 in Atlanta.

Bolt will go for his fourth triple gold -- after he won the 100-meter dash earlier this week -- at a major championship Sunday in the 4x100 relay.
