Cody Rhodes still doesn’t have a Money in the Bank contract, but he did get a chance to show up the man that robbed him of that victory last month. He recorded what will probably be the most clean and convincing victory of SummerSlam, paying a beating on Damien Sandow.
SummerSlam results: Cody Rhodes destroys Damien Sandow
Damien Sandow took a convincing beating from Cody Rhodes, but he’s still Mr. Money in the Bank.
Team Rhodes Scholars, the tag team consisting of these two performers, was broken up at Money in the Bank, when Sandow pushed his “friend” Rhodes off of a ladder to cost him the World Heavyweight Championship contract. This match was not for the contract because reasons. Also, Rhodes used to have a stupid mustache, but he came out for the match without it.
Sandow hit the Elbow of Distain very early, though he didn’t get particularly close to pinning Cody. Some finisher! That would be one of the last pieces of significant offense that Sandow got in during the match.
Rhodes hit a huge slam off the top rope, a missile dropkick, a strong kick to the groin area and the CrossRhodes before pinning Sandow to get the victory in convincing fashion. Obviously his mustache has been holding him back all this time.
