Ljubo Miličević is coming back to the A-League, joining Perth Glory after a twelve year absence. The 32-year-old is leaving Victorian Premier League side Melbourne Knights after four months, according to the club’s website. The A-League website has announced Miličević‘s arrival as well.

The controversial defenders returns to the A-League after two years in Croatia and the Victorian Premier League.
The 6’4” center back made a name for himself in his first stint with the Glory, helping lead Perth to the 2000 NSL grand final, a game in which he scored as a 19-year-old. After leaving the Glory in 2001, Miličević spent six years in Switzerland with FC Zurich, FC Basel, FC Thun and BSC Young Boys. A return to Australia saw two games with Melbourne Victory in 2007 before a full-time return in 2009 with Newcastle Jets.
Since leaving Newcastle in 2011, Miličević has spent time in the VPL, first with South Melbourne, and most recently with the Knights, while squeezing in an injury-riddled season at Croatian giants Hajduk Split.
Miličević‘s history of unfiltered comments in the media, for example this outburst in 2011, have made him a difficult player to employ. Yet Perth are hoping a more mature Miličević will make a healthy contribution to the side and perhaps lead them back to the better days of a dozen years ago.
The club have not yet made the signing official.
