Matt Garza shouldn’t tweet when he’s mad, later apologizes
Clemson banned college football players from Twitter this week. Matt Garza may wish to follow that lead after an ill-advised outburst Saturday.

To get to the heart of this, you've got to go backward a few hours. Garza did not appreciate when Eric Sogard of the A's laid a safety squeeze bunt down against him in the seventh inning. He realllly didn't appreciate it, as you can see, and barked a few words at Sogard to let him know. Those words were probably not "I asked him if there were any good places to eat in Oakland," as Garza joked with the press after the game (via the Dallas Morning News).
Garza also apparently did not appreciate when Sogard’s wife made a comment on Twitter.

Maybe he should have taken a lesson from another famed California resident, Dallas Braden: “We don’t do much talking in the 209.”
Update: Garza apologized Sunday for his comments on Twitter, telling a group of reporters, including T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com.
“All I want to say is I let my competitive spirit cross outside the lines, and that shouldn’t happen. I let my passion, my fire carry over, and that’s not how this game should be played. And for that I apologize to the Sogards for anything that was said through my Twitter. That’s all I have. I regret what happened, and I’m just looking forward to a great game today.”
