With Jacksonville quarterback Blaine Gabbert out for Week 2, the Jaguars' coaching staff is counting on his replacement to take advantage of the opportunity for extra playing time against the Raiders. Gabbert required 15 stitches after suffering a laceration to his hand in the Jaguars' 28-2 loss against the Chiefs, and veteran Chad Henne will replace the injured starter against Oakland on Sunday. Head coach Gus Bradley hopes that the sixth-year player will step up in Gabbert's absence and prove he deserves the job moving forward.
Gus Bradley wants Chad Henne to ‘capture’ Jaguars QB job
Could the Jaguars name Chad Henne the starting quarterback with a solid performance against the Raiders in Week 2?

Henne told reporters that he would try to keep the position with an impressive performance on the road against Oakland. Bradley, who was hired this past offseason, is happy with Henne’s approach toward the starting quarterback job:
“That’s good - I would hope he would say that [about starting],” Bradley said. “He’s a competitor. That’s why we have confidence in him playing. I really want him to go out here and capture this and be at his best. That was our conversation today, ‘Don’t wait until Sunday to compete.’”
The Jaguars will be on the road in Week 2 against the Raiders, who are also coming off a Week 1 loss. Oakland will host Jacksonville at 4:25 p.m. ET on CBS.
