We start the NASCAR weekend at Chicagoland Speedway with a pleasant and dry weather forecast for today and Saturday. Lots of sunshine and pleasantly cool temperatures as highs this afternoon and Saturday reaching the upper 60s to near 70.
NASCAR at Chicagoland Speedway 2013: Chance of rain Sunday
As NASCAR starts the 2013 Chase for the Sprint Cup at Chicagoland Speedway, rains is a concern for Sunday afternoon.
The weather concern this weekend is Sunday, especially Sunday afternoon when the Sprint Cup series race is scheduled to take place. A cold front will be sweeping through northern Illinois Sunday morning through Sunday afternoon and slowly clearing out Sunday evening. This front will spread showers and some isolated thunderstorms across the area. Could expect rain anytime from Sunday morning into late Sunday afternoon.
Does this threat of rain and storms mean a Monday race for NASCAR?
While rain is likely at some point Sunday morning into Sunday afternoon it should start to clear out Sunday evening. I think worst case scenario is we have a Sunday night race instead of a Sunday afternoon race.
