Brisbane Roar used a late Kwame Yeboah goal to defeat Melbourne Victory in front of 2542 at North Ipswich Reserve in Queensland. The goal came in the 83rd minute, eight minutes after Francesco Stella was sent off for the Victory for a second yellow card in just thirty minutes on the pitch.

Down to ten men for the final fifteen minutes, the Victory could not keep a draw and allowed Yeboah’s 83rd minute winner.


The match was the first for the Victory against A-League opposition this pre-season, the last club in the league to do so. Ange Postecoglou used a combination of young players and regular starters as Kosta Barbarouses, Archie Thompson and Mark Milligan were not in the side.
Both sides debuted new kits with the Victory wearing their latest adidas strip while Brisbane wore its new, grey third kits with an orange sash.
