The Colts may be in the market for a new running back. Colts owner Jim Irsay has taken to Twitter to profess his desire to deal for a running back. The tweet comes just days after Indianapolis lost second-year running back Vick Ballard for the season due to an ACL tear. The Colts' backup running back Ahmad Bradshaw was held to 26 yards on seven carries in Week 1.

Stampede Blue weighs in on Irsay's trade talk.The eccentric owner is known for his extremely transparent tweets, and he spent a great amount of the summer with a public focus on trading for a wide receiver. His desire to add a new running back likely comes from a lack of confidence behind Bradshaw in former first-round pick Donald Brown this year's seventh rounder Kerwynn Williams.
Bradshaw was cut by the Giants this past offseason due to a large salary and a nasty foot injury that plagued him throughout the 2012 season. Brown has struggled to assert himself as a starter throughout his five seasons in Indianapolis and has only 1,840 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns in his career. The Connecticut alum was barely used in Week 1 and did not receive a carry.
If Irsay's urge to acquire a new running back is met with a deal, the Colts will likely target teams with depth. Miami, New England, Cincinnati and Denver are among the teams with four or more running backs. The Colts are also fond of trading with the Philadelphia Eagles, so perhaps former Philadelphia front office executive and current Colts General Manager Ryan Grigson could be tempted to deal with Howie Roseman and Chip Kelly. Eagles running backs Bryce Brown and Chris Polk played very well during the preseason and are currently behind LeSean McCoy, who received 31 carries in Week 1. Denver's Knowshon Moreno could also be a possible target.
