Heath Miller injury: Steelers expect tight end back at practice

The Steelers have yet to get a win this season, but they are getting back their starting tight end this week.

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

While the Steelers are lacking in wins this season, they are expected regain some offensive fire-power pretty soon. According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, starting tight end Heath Miller is expected to practice in a full capacity in Week 3. Miller had been rehabbing from MCL and ACL surgery after suffering tears in both ligaments in Week 16 on last season.

While it is unclear whether or not Miller will play in Week 3's matchup against the Bears on Sunday Night Football, he will practice more than he has in nearly 10 months. Second-year tight end David Paulson started in Miller's place during the first two weeks of the season. During those games, Paulson complied just three catches for 49 yards and lost a fumble.

Miller’s return will likely be a big boost to the Steelers, who have scored a combined 19 points in two weeks of play. The Steelers will host the Bears in Week 3 during Sunday Night Football on NBC at 8:30 p.m. ET.
